When we assemble, our goal is to honor God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ God's Son in acceptable worship (1 Pet. 2:5, ESV).  Our guide in doing this is God's Word, the Bible.

Proclaiming the Lord's Death

Paul wrote, "For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes."  (1 Cor. 11:26)

We examine ourselves and partake of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine as Christ's memorial each Lord's Day, the first day of the week (Sunday).  This meal is not meant to fill a person's appetite for food but to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. (1 Cor. 11:23-34; Mat. 26:26-29)

Provoking One Another to do Good

Usually to "provoke" someone is something bad.  However, Christians are told to come together to provoke, or stir up, one another to do acts of love and other good works. (Heb. 10:23-25)

Singing

Christians have been instructed to address one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, teaching and admonishing one another, and make melody with our hearts to the Lord with thankfulness.  (Eph. 5:19; Col 3:16)

Praying

Praying to God is honoring the Creator, through Christ's name, and making intercession for others, one another, and ourselves.  (Jud. 1:20)

Preaching

Christians encourage one another by preaching the words of inspired Scripture (1 Thes. 5:11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17)   We offer encouragement to you, if you are not a Christian, to become one.

Teaching

We learn the lessons of scripture and apply them to our living not only by the encouragement of preaching but also teaching one another.  (Rom. 12:7)  Sunday morning and Wednesday night we have classes focusing on studying the Bible for this reason.

Giving

As the Christians of the first century did, Christians of our century put something aside on the first day of the week and have an opportunity to give it on the Lord's Day for the purposes of evangelism, edification, and benevolence. (1 Cor. 16:1-2)
